iOS Notifications

I denied notifications on iOS, how do I re-enable them?

iOS doesn't show the "Allow Notifications?" prompt a second time once you've tapped "Don't Allow." Reinstalling the web app doesn't reset it either. You'll need to flip the switch manually in the Settings app.

Before you start

  • Make sure you're running iOS 16.4 or later (older iOS doesn't support web push at all).
  • You must have PluralSpace added to your home screen, notifications don't work in a regular Safari tab.

Steps

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Scroll down the alphabetical list of apps and tap PluralSpace.
  4. Turn Allow Notifications on.
  5. (Optional) Choose where alerts appear: Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners.
  6. Close Settings, open the PluralSpace app from your home screen, and visit Settings → Notifications in-app.
  7. You should now see "This browser is registered for push notifications." If not, tap Enable notifications.

Nothing appears under Notifications?

That means iOS doesn't know about PluralSpace yet. Make sure:

  • You've added the site to your home screen from Safari (Share → Add to Home Screen).
  • You've opened it at least once from the home-screen icon, not from Safari.

Still not receiving them after enabling?

  • Check you're not in a Focus mode (Do Not Disturb, Sleep, Work, etc.) that silences PluralSpace.
  • Check Settings → Notifications → Scheduled Summary. If PluralSpace is in the summary, alerts are batched instead of delivered live.
  • Sign out and back in inside the app, then try again.

Android Notifications

Chrome

Before you start

  • Notifications work whether PluralSpace is installed as an app or used in a Chrome tab, but installing gives you a cleaner experience (Chrome menu → Install app or Add to home screen).
  • You must be running Android 8.0 or later (Chrome's web push support).

Steps (if you previously denied)

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Navigate to pluralspace.app.
  3. Tap the lock icon to the left of the address bar.
  4. Tap Permissions → Notifications.
  5. Switch to Allow.
  6. Close and reopen the tab (or the installed app), then go to Settings → Notifications in PluralSpace and tap Enable notifications if it's still showing.

Alternative path via Chrome settings

  1. Chrome menu → Settings → Site settings → Notifications.
  2. Under Blocked, find pluralspace.app and tap it.
  3. Change Notifications to Allow.

Still not receiving them?

  • Check Android Settings → Apps → Chrome → Notifications. Make sure Chrome itself can send notifications.
  • Check Do Not Disturb and any Digital Wellbeing / Focus schedules.

Firefox

  1. Tap the lock icon in the address bar while on pluralspace.app.
  2. Tap Site permissions → Notifications → Allow.

Or via settings: Firefox menu → Settings → Site permissions → Notification → find pluralspace.app → Allow.

Desktop

Chrome/Edge

  1. Go to pluralspace.app.
  2. Click the lock icon in the address bar.
  3. Click Site settings.
  4. Change Notifications to Allow.
  5. Reload the page.

Firefox

  1. Click the lock icon in the address bar while on pluralspace.app.
  2. Click Clear permissions and cookies or click the small arrow next to Connection secure → More information → Permissions → Send notifications → uncheck Use default and choose Allow.
  3. Reload the page.

Safari (macOS)

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Go to Safari → Settings (or press ⌘,).
  3. Click the Websites tab.
  4. Click Notifications in the left sidebar.
  5. Find pluralspace.app in the list and change it to Allow.

General troubleshooting

  • Make sure notifications aren't suppressed at the OS level (Focus, Do Not Disturb, Quiet Hours, Scheduled Summary).
  • Make sure your browser itself is allowed to send notifications to the OS.
  • Private / incognito browsing blocks push notifications entirely, use a regular window.
  • After changing permission, come back to Settings → Notifications inside PluralSpace and tap Enable notifications to finish registering this browser.
